Build 1004 Latest October 2026
- Installer: the installer is now in the program's 11 languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Arabic and Hebrew). It follows the language of Windows, as the program does, and the Welcome page's version label and the shortcut's tooltip are translated too. The license agreement stays in English.
Build 1003 October 2026
- Updates: "Install" in "Update available" now downloads the update. In builds 1001 and 1002 it stops with "The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden": to get this build from one of them, download it from this website and install it.
Build 1002 October 2026
- 2.0 is released: Photo Organizer 2.0 is no longer a beta: the program shows "2.0" next to its name.
- Back and Home, like a browser: next to the title of what's shown, ← goes back to what you saw before (an event, a folder, a search or a day), scrolled where you were, and ⌂ shows all your photos and videos again. Alt+← and the mouse's back button go back too, and Esc goes home.
- The folders an event is in are over its title, from "All photos and videos": click one to see all its photos.
- Calendar: its header names what's shown when it isn't everything, with a cross to show everything again.
- Folder list: the top row reads "All photos and videos", with the destination folder under it ("No destination folder yet" until you choose one), and the number of photos and videos is always shown.
- Updates: build 1001 offers this build when it checks for updates.
Build 1001 October 2026
- 2.0 beta: Photo Organizer 2.0 is now a beta: the program shows "2.0 beta" next to its name.
- A new header: the Gearmage name plate with the program's logo and name, and "by Gearmage" with the version and build next to it. A line sets the bug report and Settings buttons apart, and the title bar shows the program's name only.
- "Settings" › "Updates" links to the release notes.
- "Settings" › "EULA & Privacy": opens the license agreement and the privacy policy on gearmage.com.
- Calendar: a click on a day picks it at once, every time, with the folder that holds most of that day's photos. A day without photos inside an event's band picks that event, "All photos and videos" stays picked when you click it again, and days are marked only when less than everything is shown.
- Updates: build 1000 offers this build when it checks for updates.
Build 1000 October 2026
- Event grouping: a slider sets how many days without photos start a new event, or turn grouping off. Weekends can be grouped as one event, and trips away from home stay together.
- Folders, events and file names each have their own settings: a folder per year or month, your own folder template, no folders at all, event names by date or descriptive, and your own file names. Save your choices under a name and switch between them.
- Destination: you choose the folder the organized photos go into. Nothing on your disk changes until you click "Organize into folders", and a preview shows what will happen first.
- Results: after organizing, a summary of what was done, and how to fix anything that wasn't. Organizing can be undone.
- Duplicates: exact copies, the same photo saved twice, or photos that look alike. Choose copies yourself side by side, or keep one by a rule (largest, oldest...), then move the others to a folder or the Recycle Bin.
- Large libraries: tens of thousands of photos, with a scan you can follow and cancel, and photos that load as you scroll.
- Videos are organized with the photos, and play right in the program: in the details, in their tile when the details are hidden, or in a window of their own, full screen. Scrub to any point, also while paused; Space plays and pauses.
- Only photos, or only videos: a filter next to the search narrows the photos, the folders and the calendar, and Organize offers the same choice.
- Long weekends: by weekend, a Friday or Monday next to the weekend is part of it.
- Runs natively on Windows on ARM (and on 64-bit Intel and AMD).
