Use it instead of EWS, which Microsoft is retiring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clearer sign-in<\/strong>: the app shows which permissions were granted, with a <strong>Copy for IT<\/strong> button for your administrator.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your own app registration<\/strong> for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace (PRO). Microsoft starts turning off EWS in Exchange Online in October 2026 and removes it in April 2027 (<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/exchange\/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online\/deprecation-of-ews-exchange-online\">Microsoft<\/a>), so switch them to Microsoft Graph.<\/p>\n<p>On your own domain, just type the address: the app looks up its mail records and offers the Microsoft 365 or Gmail settings.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"signing-in\">Signing in with your browser<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gearmage.com\/assets\/images\/howto\/mad-main-add-account.svg\" alt=\"The top of the main window, with Add account marked 1\" width=\"780\" height=\"250\" \/><\/figure>\n<ol>\n<li>Click <strong>Add account<\/strong> (1). The mail server settings open.<\/li>\n<li>Type your email address in <strong>Account<\/strong> and check the <strong>Server type<\/strong> against the table above. Leave <strong>Use OAuth2 (modern auth)<\/strong> ticked: there is no password box.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Test Connection<\/strong>. In the <strong>Authorization required<\/strong> window, click <strong>Launch browser to authorize<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Sign in as the same account and allow every permission. On Google, tick every checkbox.<\/li>\n<li>Go back to the app, click <strong>Continue<\/strong>, then <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!-- TODO: screenshot of the \"Authorization required\" window from build 1037 goes here --><\/p>\n<p>The 2020 trick of typing a wrong password is no longer needed: these accounts always sign in with Microsoft or Google. The account&#8217;s <strong>Permissions<\/strong> tab shows what was granted.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"app-passwords\">Yahoo, iCloud and other providers<\/h2>\n<p>These providers need an app password, not your regular password.
